Models frontman James Freud dies

Australia’s music industry is in mourning following the death of the Models frontman James Freud today.

Freud, who was 51, took his own life following a long struggle with drug and alochol addiction. It’s ironic that only one week ago the Melbourne born band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame – Freud did not attend however.

The Models hits included the 1985 No. 1 Out of Mind, Out of Sight with Freud on lead vocals, as well as I Hear Motion, Big on Love and Evolution.

1985 also saw the release of Barbados (my favourite) which topped number 2. It was this song that gave Freud the title of his book I Am the Voice Left From Drinking.

Addicted to Love?

One of most iconic songs from the 80’s was Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love.

To say they are iconic of the 80s is an understatement as even to this day they are constantly parodied.
