I’m currently looking for a new theme for the site. When I initially created it, it was on the list of ‘to do’ things, but I never got around to it (sound familiar?).

In the meantime, if anyone would like to design me a new theme for the site, please leave a comment at the bottom of the post.

My only requirements are for a three column layout, and some space to put advertising and adsense (I need to pay for my webhosting :- ). Oh and of course, I need a 80′s feel to the layout ……

If I like it and end up using it, I will let the lucky person have some (permanent) aknowledgement and advertising space on my site.

If you are like me, you would be kicking yourself for throwing away a lot of you old toys/music/clothes etc that you used (and enjoyed) back in the good old 80′s.

I still have most of my old vinyl records but the ironic thing is that I have nothing to play them on! That aside, I have no plans to get rid of them mainly because of the memories they hold.

Everything is back in vogue now, and some of it is even worth serious money if you’re into that type of thing.

But what if you wanted to get some of that old stuff back? Where can you get it from? Well, I have a couple of ideas to help point you in the right direction.

Have a think about it – you weren’t the only person that grew up in the 80s and had all this cool stuff (well, it’s cool now).

Ask friends and friends of friends if they have any old stuff from the 80s that they don’t want anymore. Remember, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure! You never know what you could pick up.

You could also look in classifieds etc, but I think your second best bet is to look on Ebay. Search on terms such as retro or 80s, or if you know what you are after, search on the name of the ite, you are looking for.

What sort of 80′s memorabilia have you picked up or kept for all those years?

Everyone that has an ipod uses podcasts. And there are plenty out there on the internet. But what about for the good old 1980′s?

Yep, sure is. Stuck in the 80′s is a great blog on the decade that mattered, complete with a weekly podcast hosted by Steve Spears.

On the blog pages, there are links to suscribe via iTunes and the more popular readers (including the RSS feed). ALL the past podcasts are there too, so you have plenty of listening to do in order to catch up.

Once I build the site up a bit more, I think I’ll email Steve and ask him to mention my site on one of his podcasts, or even better, write an article.
